FUSION Business Matching Brings MSMEs and Potential Partners to the Same Table

Direct engagement between FUSION MSMEs and prospective business partners during Business Matching.

FUSION concluded its market-linkage phase with an in-person Business Matching event at Novotel Hotel Bandung on 7 July 2026. The full-day event brought together 84 participants from FUSION MSMEs, government, financial institutions, private companies, business associations, academia and other organisations across the food-supply ecosystem.

The event was designed as a practical continuation of the programme’s earlier capacity building, mentoring and benchmarking activities. Six selected FUSION MSMEs delivered short pitches introducing their companies, flagship products, production capacity, target markets and potential areas for collaboration. The wider product showcase then created space for participating MSMEs to hold direct conversations with prospective partners at dedicated meeting tables.

These conversations covered product offerings, business capacity, market requirements and possible forms of collaboration. Participating MSMEs used Business Matching forms to record the level of interest expressed by prospective partners, potential opportunities, estimated transaction values where applicable and agreed follow-up actions.

The report notes that the quality of linkages varied. Some conversations generated immediate expressions of interest and clear next steps, while others remained exploratory. This distinction is important because an initial conversation is not the same as a confirmed transaction. The report therefore recommends tracking opportunities beyond the event through stages such as follow-up contact, information or product exchange, negotiation, agreement and realised transaction.

The programme also used the event to connect MSMEs with broader support systems. Government presentations introduced SAPA UMKM and PRO-KESRA Produktif, while a panel brought together perspectives on B2B marketing, financing and MSME development. The event closed with participant recognition and the symbolic handover of FUSION training modules.

By bringing businesses, policymakers, financiers and prospective partners into the same room, Business Matching created a platform for FUSION MSMEs to test their readiness in real conversations and begin building relationships that may continue beyond the programme.
